Objectives:
A foundation / intermediate level course designed to provide foster carers and their professional support network with knowledge and understanding about young people who sexually harm and how foster care can usefully respond. Course includes:
- The impact of attachment and trauma on child development and how it relates to young people who sexually harm.
- Understanding child / adolescent sexual development
- Identifying how the specific role of foster care can support the application of the Good Lives model
- An introduction to risk management
